Chicago,IL — Born November 25, 2000 in Chicago Illinois a star was born, Talen Horton-Tucker played basketball in elementary school, but his big break came when former Simeon basketball star Marquis “ Kezo” Brown had a mental breakdown, after making history his freshman year at Simeon winning state it might have been to much pressure on the then teenage guard. Talen was not even on varsity yet, so that just shows you in life it’s not about who does it first it’s more so about how it ends. Junior year at Simeon the two would finally play together upon Kezo Brown return after his breakdown in his sophomore year, that team was said to be one the best roster Simeon has ever had. Although Kezo didn’t play his senior year, it would only give Talen a chance to have the spotlight on just him making him a top prospect in state of Illinois.
Wearing Number (5) listed at 6' 4" over 200 lbs as a senior, the Simeon star would average 20.4 points 8.3 rebounds with 3.0 blocks a game. These stats gave him a solid foundation leading up to his big recruit from Iowa State University, Talen only played one year at the university averaging only 11.8 points 4.9 rebounds with 2.3 Assist a game.
