Directed by Brooklyn’s own Jay-Z — are arguing for a change in New York law, so that rap lyrics can no longer be used as evidence in court for criminal trial’s. This is just the start of the movement, but this will help prevent conviction’s using artists lyrics like those who have been convicted of such a crime.

Jay-Z’s lawyer printed up the letter calling for changes in New York law about the use of rap lyrics as criminal evidence.

Meek Mill, Fat Joe, Robin Thicke, Yo Gotti and Kelly Roland are among those who have signed a letter making their case for New York state lawmakers to back the proposed change immediately. This is what hip hop is all about, making change for the urban community without a voice.

The music world, has always been a straight direct voice for all colorful people, because music is listen to by everyone in the world.

This is a needed change, because so many artists have been fail victims to their own lyrics, like Tay-K in 2017 when his hit single “The Race” was used by prosecutors in his 2019 murder trial.

If this law is passed, this definitely will block the same situation from happening over and over because of rap lyrics.
