Chicago,IL — Winter time is almost over, but don’t make the big mistake taking the easier route washing your electric or Hybrid vehicle using a car wash.

The best option for any electric vehicle, is two buckets and a hose which is the safest way for now. Going through a car wash with a huge roller usually destroy your paint job after a while, but beyond your cosmetics being damaged with cars like Tesla, they have a safety feature that prevents you to stay in neutral which could cause major problems. But don’t let this scare you, I’m simply here just to warn you of what can happen in these type of situations.

Now if you have noticed, most car was have posted warning signs due to previous situations where a Tesla was stuck in a car wash due to its special features.

Some electric cars come with instructions in the user manual to help drivers get into neutral, just in case they want to take the risk driving through a car wash regardless of damage that can be caused.

If you ask me, I say just avoid the situation all together so that you prevent any costly damage to your vehicle that’s totally unnecessary.
